Tottenham Hotspur midfielder James Maddison will be out of action for at least six to seven months.
James Maddison will miss more than half of the new football season after picking up an injury in a preseason match.
The 29-year-old English midfielder suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury to his right knee in a friendly match between Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle last week in Seoul.

Maddison came on for Archie Gray in the 75th minute and came off about 10 minutes later after an off-the-ball incident as he held on to his knee in agony.
Tottenham’s head coach, Thomas Frank, confirmed the injury was to the same knee Maddison had previously injured in May 2025 in the post-match conference.
The club has confirmed Maddison’s injury and confirmed that the former Leicester City midfielder will undergo surgery for a ruptured ACL in his right knee.
