Mikel Arteta is expected to be without a key player for a significant period due to a knee injury.
David Ornstein took to ‘X’ to report that “Arsenal forward Kai Havertz set for spell out with a knee injury.”
The “prognosis and duration” of the injury is currently “unclear”, but the Gunners are “exploring” the market for forwards that could bolster their attacking options.

While Viktor Gyokeres was preferred to the German centre forward at Old Trafford, the absence of Kai Havertz could leave Mikel Arteta short in the forward department – with Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Noni Madueke, and Leandro Trossard favoured in a wider role.

Gyokeres was disappointing in the opener against United, and the belief was that Havertz’ presence would raise the level of both strikers.
While a replacement is paramount, it remains unclear how much the club are willing to spend on what may prove to be a stopgap depth option.
Arsenal are set to continue their season without Havertz as they face newly-promoted Leeds United on Saturday.
