Inter Milan began their Serie A campaign in ruthless fashion on Monday night, dismantling Torino 5–0 at San Siro in a performance that underlined their title ambitions.
Alessandro Bastoni set the tone in the 18th minute with a thumping header from a corner, before Marcus Thuram doubled the advantage shortly before halftime after latching onto Petar Sucic’s precise through ball.
The second half turned into a showcase of Inter’s attacking power. Lautaro Martínez punished a defensive lapse to make it three, Thuram rose again to head home his second, and debutant Ange-Yoan Bonny capped the rout with a cool finish after a flowing move involving Denzel Dumfries.

The result marked Inter’s first five-goal victory in a Serie A season opener since 1961, an emphatic response to last season’s near misses.

There were further positives for coach Cristian Chivu, with youngsters Petar Sucic, Andy Diouf and Ange-Yoan Bonny all impressing on debut.
