Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce and global pop superstar, Taylor Swift have officially announced their engagement, putting an end to months of speculation about their future together.
The couple shared the news in a joint Instagram post on Monday evening, posting romantic photos from a garden-themed proposal. The caption read playfully, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
Swift wore a striped Ralph Lauren summer dress while Kelce coordinated in a navy sweater and shorts, setting an effortlessly elegant tone for the announcement.
The centerpiece of the post was Swift’s striking engagement ring—an Old Mine brilliant-cut diamond personally designed by Kelce in collaboration with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry.

Swift and Kelce’s relationship began in the summer of 2023, when the NFL star joked on his podcast about failing to give her a friendship bracelet at an Eras Tour stop.
That lighthearted moment sparked a connection that quickly grew into one of pop culture’s most high-profile romances. Swift later appeared on Kelce’s New Heights podcast, breaking YouTube records and teasing her upcoming album “The Life of a Showgirl”.
Within minutes of the engagement post, social media went into meltdown, racking up over two million likes in less than ten minutes. Celebrities, athletes, and world leaders weighed in, with even former President Donald Trump—often at odds with Swift in the past—offering congratulations, calling Kelce a “great player” and Swift a “terrific person.”
