Nottingham Forest have confirmed the departure of Nigerian forward, Emmanuel Dennis following the mutual termination of his contract.
The announcement, made on 31 August 2025, ends the striker’s three-year association with the club.
“Nottingham Forest can confirm that Emmanuel Dennis has left the club following the mutual termination of his contract. We wish Emmanuel well for the future,” the club said in an official statement.
Dennis joined Forest from Watford in August 2022 in a deal worth around £10 million, arriving with high expectations after scoring 10 goals in the Premier League for the Hornets.

However, he struggled to establish himself at the City Ground, making just 25 appearances and registering a handful of goals and assists.
The 27-year-old spent much of his Forest career out on loan, including spells at İstanbul Başakşehir, a return to Watford, and most recently at Blackburn Rovers in the Championship. Despite showing flashes of his ability, he was unable to secure a consistent role under successive Forest managers.
Dennis is now a free agent, able to sign for another club outside the transfer window. At 27, he will be hoping to reignite his career and return to the form that once made him one of the most exciting attacking prospects in English football.
