Rwanda are not giving up yet on their dream of qualifying for the World Cup next summer in the United States.
The Amavubi secured maximum points over Zimbabwe away from home on Tuesday to keep their chase on.
Rwanda came into the tie off the back of a defeat to Nigeria in Uyo on Saturday but came out top against the Brave Warriors in Johannesburg.
Despite dominanting possession and creating chances at goal in the early exachangesz Rwanda struggled to breakdown the defense of the “host”.
However, Gilbert Mugisha goal five minutes before halftime gave the vistsors the lead going into the break.
Zimbabwe started the second half the better side as they tried to restore parity.
The Brave Warriors created three chances on target but couldn’t breach the defense of the Amavubi.
Rwanda held on to their lead until the final blast of the whistle as they go level on point, 11 with the Super Eagles with two matches left in the qualification series.
