Barcelona Football Club head coach Hansi Flick has blamed the Spanish national team for contributing to Lamine Yamal’s injury.
The German managed accused the reigning European champions of giving the 18-year-old forward painkillers and forced him to play while on international duty.
Flick expressed his displeasures at the treatment of the youngster ahead of Barcelona’s La Liga fixture against Valencia.
Lamine Yamal will not be available against Valencia. He joined the national team with pain and did not train,” Flick initially said in the conference.
“Spain gave him painkillers and even when they won, they forced him to play. This is not taking care of the players. I am very sad about this.”
“I think the Spanish national team has a great team, the best players in the world, but they haven’t taken care of their players and this is news that makes me sad.”
Lamine Yamal will be unavailable for the tie and could also miss Barcelona’s trip to Newcastle as the league phase of the UEFA Champions League commences.
Yamal is reportedly suffering from discomfort from his lower abdominal area and didn’t train on return from the World Cup qualifiers.
