Heartbreak for Chelsea as star player Cole Palmer ruled out for several weeks

Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer is reportedly set to be out for six to eight weeks with a groin injury, according to reports.

This news comes after Palmer was forced to miss the Carabao Cup match against Lincoln City. The injury reportedly flared up during Chelsea’s 2-1 Premier League defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Palmer was substituted just 21 minutes into the Manchester United game after attempting to play through the pain. Maresca later admitted that allowing him to play was a gamble.

The 22-year-old had only recently recovered from a previous groin issue, and his latest setback is a result of aggravating the problem. The club’s medical staff and Maresca are now under scrutiny for the decision to play him against Manchester United.

This injury adds to a growing list of concerns for Maresca, who is already dealing with several other long-term injuries to key players. Other players will now face pressure to step up and fill the void left by Palmer’s absence.
