Paris Saint-Germain shrugged off last week defeat to Marseille as the reigning champions beat Auxerre at the Parc Des Princes on Saturday night.

Luis Enrique lined-up with 17-year old forward Ibrahim Mbaye and Goncalo Ramos with reigning Ballon d’or winner Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doie injured.

The home side started the tie dominating their opponents as expected with a few chances at the goal in the early exchanges.

Ukrainian defender Ilya Zabarnyi put the host ahead after the half hour mark as he got to the end of a brilliant cross to score his first goal for the club.

Paris Saint-Germain held on to their lead into the half time break after enjoying a large spell of possession.

The reigning champions started the second half just like they ended the first and they doubled their lead a few minutes into the half.

Meanwhile, Monaco suffered their second loss of the season as they fell to a 3-1 defeat away at Lorient.

Thilo Kehrer’s red card before the break made things difficult for the visitors as Lorient immediately took advantage of the numerical difference.

French forward Pablo Pagis came off the bench to bag a brace after Mohammed Bamba’s opener to seal a 3-1 win for the hostas they ended a three-game winless streak.

Toulouse and Nantes were inseparable as they thrilled their fans and neutrals to a four-goal spectacle with there of the four goals scored in the second half.
