Bayern Munich secured a composed 2-1 victory over an in-form Borussia Dortmund in Der Klassiker at the Allianz Arena on Saturday, maintaining their perfect start to the Bundesliga season.
The Bavarians began brightly, immediately putting pressure on the visitors’ goal. Dortmund keeper Gregor Kobel was forced into several early saves, including a splendid double stop to deny Michael Olise and Luis Díaz.

However, Kobel was powerless in the 22nd minute when Harry Kane broke the deadlock, rising to power home a bullet header from Joshua Kimmich’s pinpoint corner.
Dortmund emerged with renewed energy after the restart, but striker Serhou Guirassy squandered two good opportunities to equalize, first firing over and then dragging an effort wide following a rare Kimmich turnover.
Bayern found their decisive second goal in the 78th minute when Michael Olise’s persistence paid off, sliding in to steer home Díaz’s low pass across the face of the goal.
Dortmund hit back six minutes later through substitute Julian Brandt, who met Julian Ryerson’s delivery with a sharp near-post volley to make it 2-1, but the hosts held on for the narrow win.
