Taiwo Awoniyi has broken his goal drought after nearly a year in Nottingham Forest’s win over Brentford away from home.
The last few months has been tough on the Super Eagles striker being in and out of the squad due to injuries.
Last season, the striker was placed in an induced coma after an emergency surgery as a result of abdominal injury he suffered against Leicester City.
Taiwo Awoniyi has featured only seven times this season having witnessed two managerial changes this season.
However, Awoniyi ended his drought today as he came of the bench in the second half to seal the win for Nottingham Forest away at Brentford.
Taiwo Awoniyi beat his markers with pace and a brilliant skill before burying the ball in between the legs of Caoimhin Kelleher.
The 28-year-old striker did his trademark celebration as he brought out his cross symbol-designed shin pads to cover his eyes.
The win takes Sean Dyche’s men five points above the relegation zone as they occupy the 17th spot with 25 points.
