Nigeria’s Super Falcons fell to a narrow defeat to Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses in one of the two-phased warm-up matches ahead of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Mbomezomo Yvana scored the only goal of the tie in added time of the 90 to give Cameroon their first win over the Super Falcons since 2012.
Justin Madugu put out a decent line-up with Christy Ucheibe, Omorinsola Babajide, Monday Gift, the captain, and Rasheedat Ajibade among the starters.
Ngozo Okobi made her return to the team after a long absence and played in midfield alongside Jennifer Echegini and Ucheibe.
It was a keenly contested tie but the Lionesses came out on top with a 1-0 win over the defending champions.
The Super Falcons will take on the Lionesses again on Tuesday as they prepare for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco next Month.
