Alex Iwobi scores a banger, Manchester United claim third spot as Brighton edge Forest

Alex Iwobi scored his best goal yet in his club career as Fulham extended Tottenham Hotspur’s misery in 2026.

The 29-year-old attacking midfielder powered a long-range effort from outside the box to double Fulham’s lead.

The Super Eagles midfielder rifled the ball into the far corner with a one-time shot after receiving a pass from Harry Wilson.

Fulham’s 2-1 win over Tottenham extended the winless streak of the Lilywhites in 2026 with a new manager in charge.

Manchester United came from a goal down to beat Crystal Palace at Old Trafford as the Red Devils continue their brilliant run under interim manager Michael Carrick.

Maxence Lacroix was both the hero and the villain on the afternoon as Manchester United climbed up to third on the Premier League log.

Lacroix gave Crystal Palace the lead just four minutes into the first half from the back post from a corner kick.

Despite dominating the half, the Red Devils struggled to convert their chances as the Eagles kept their lead into the break.

Maxence Lacroix received his marching orders a few minutes after the restart after stopping Matheus Cunha from reaching a goal-bound chance in the box.

Bruno Fernandes converted the penalty after a lengthy VAR review as the Eagles were reduced to 10 men.

Fernandes provided the assist to Benjamin Sesko’s thumping header from a sublime cross outside the box.

The tie ended 2-1 in favour of Manchester United as they leap over Aston Villa to become the new occupants of the third spot.

Although, the Red Devils are joint on points with the Villans – 51 but are ahead with a better goal difference.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest’s battle for survival took a hit at the American Express Stadium in the South Coast.

Daniel Gomez and Danny Welbeck’s goals in the first half condemned the Tricky Trees to a 2-1 defeat at Brighton and Hove Albion.

The loss leaves Nottingham Forest just two points above the drop zone as Brighton record back-to-back win in the league since November 2025.
