It will go down as one of the DTigress’ best performances in international basketball in recent years despite losing to France.

The reigning African champions pushed France to the limit in the keenly contested tie on Sunday night in Lyon.

Nigeria suffered a single-digit loss to France but were competitive in all quarters as they recorded their second loss in the series.

Captain of the side, Amy Okonkwo put up an impressive showing with 16 points, while Elizabeth Balogun poured in 15 points, eight rebounds and three assists.

For the second game in a row, the DTigress had six players in double digits in points scored with the likes of Ezinne Kalu, Murjanatu Musa, Promise Amukamara and Victoria Macaulay putting up a good showing.

French quarter of Janelle Salaun, Leila Lacan, Valeriane Ayayi and Gabby Williams also scored double digits for France as the game ended 93-86.
