The bottom half of La Liga saw several changes on Saturday as Elche CF recorded their first win of 2026 to climb out of the relegation zone.

Elsewhere, Valencia CF added to Sevilla FC’s difficult season with a comfortable away victory.

Elche 2–1 Mallorca

Elche ended a long wait for a win with a 2–1 comeback against Mallorca.

The first half produced few chances, but Mallorca took the lead in the 58th minute through Pablo Torre.

Elche responded quickly. Rafa Mir equalised four minutes later before Tete Morente completed the turnaround in the 71st minute.

The result lifts Elche to 16th place, while Mallorca drops into the relegation zone in 18th.

Getafe CF moved up to eighth after beating Espanyol 2–1 away from home.

Espanyol’s difficult run continued as they stretched their winless league streak to 12 matches.

Getafe took their chances better on the night and left Barcelona with all three points. Espanyol remain stuck in mid-table and are still searching for their first league win of the year.

In a clash between the bottom two sides, Levante defeated Real Oviedo 4–2.

Carlos Espí scored twice early for Levante, but Oviedo fought back before halftime through Ilyas Chaira and Federico Viñas.

Levante regained control in the second half. Iker Losada restored the lead before Iván Romero sealed the win in stoppage time. Despite the victory, Levante remain 19th, while Oviedo stay bottom of the table.

Osasuna returned to winning ways with a narrow 1–0 win over Girona FC.

The match looked set for a draw until the 80th minute when Ante Budimir scored the only goal of the game. The win moves Osasuna into ninth place.

Valencia finished the day with an impressive 2–0 win away to Sevilla. The visitors controlled most of the match and took their chances to secure the three points.

For Sevilla, the defeat leaves them in 15th place, just two points above the relegation zone as their difficult season continues.
