Brazilian midfielder Casemiro has confirmed he will not reverse his decision to leave Manchester United, bringing clarity to growing speculation around his future.
Speaking in a chat with The Athletic, the former Real Madrid star admitted the decision has already been made, despite the strong support he has received from fans.
“I believe the announcement is now done. It is huge, the affection that the fans have shown towards me,” Casemiro said.
“But I do really believe the decision is made and done. I am enjoying myself right now. I believe it will be some difficult emotional moments, these final games at Manchester United.”
The 32-year-old, who has been a key figure in United’s midfield since his arrival, acknowledged the emotional weight of his impending departure as he prepares to play his final matches for the club.
Casemiro also spoke highly of caretaker manager Michael Carrick, praising his influence on the team during a crucial period of the season.
“Above all, Michael is a specialist in my position on the field, he was a truly great player,” he said.
“That makes everything much easier and he is always talking to us. I feel like we are in a good dynamic right now in Manchester.”
Despite confirming his exit, Casemiro remains focused on helping Manchester United achieve their objectives before the end of the campaign, with Champions League qualification a key target.
“My objective now is to get the club back into the Champions League,” he added.
