Ilechukwu Plays Down Pressure After Rangers’ Home Draw, Insists Title Race Still Open

Head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu has dismissed concerns over his future and maintained belief in his side’s title ambitions following Rangers’ home draw.

Speaking after the game, Ilechukwu made it clear that there is no internal pressure from the club’s management despite the dropped points.

“My job won’t be under threat if we don’t win the title this season. If you check the team and the management, we don’t put anybody under pressure to deliver,” he said.

The Rangers boss admitted that finishing second would represent a decent campaign but stressed that the team remains focused on going all the way.

“A second-place finish is a success for Rangers, but we don’t want to accept that. We have all it takes to fight until the end of the season,” he added.

With the league entering a decisive phase, Ilechukwu highlighted the competitiveness at the top of the table, noting that no clear favourites have emerged.

“Currently, we don’t know the teams that will finish in the top three because the league is tight and tough, but what I can say is that we have the capacity needed to finish strong.”
