Atlético Madrid have included Ademola Lookman in their 23-man matchday squad for Wednesday evening’s UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg against Arsenal.
The Super Eagles forward was a doubt for the game after picking up a minor injury during the Copa del Rey final against Real Sociedad. As a result, he missed Atlético’s last two La Liga matches against Elche and Athletic Bilbao.
Diego Simeone named the squad on Tuesday and confirmed during his pre-match press conference that Lookman is not yet at full fitness and will undergo a late fitness test.
However, Lookman’s inclusion in the squad indicates that the club’s medical team has cleared him to be available for selection.
Ademola Lookman has faced Arsenal five times in the past with Atalanta, Everton, Fulham, and Leicester City without finding the back of the net.
Meanwhile, the 28-year-old forward has been in good form since he arrived in Madrid in February, with seven goals and four assists in 18 matches across all competitions.
