Kompany Backs Bayern to Deliver ‘Unforgettable’ Night Against PSG

Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany says his team and supporters are ready for a defining moment as they prepare for their UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg against Paris Saint-Germain.

Bayern head into Wednesday’s clash in Munich trailing 5–4 on aggregate after a dramatic first-leg defeat, where they fought back from 5–2 down but fell just short.

Despite the deficit, Kompany expressed strong belief within the squad and fanbase that the German side can overturn the result and reach the final.

“There is this feeling that together we will take the next steps,” Kompany said during his pre-match press conference.

“Few believed it at the start of the season that we will have a chance with the last home game to reach the Champions League final.”

“Now we are here, we have experienced great moments and the fans believe we will make it and together we want to make this moment unforgettable.”

Bayern have already secured the Bundesliga title this season and remain on course for a domestic double, with a German Cup final against VfB Stuttgart later this month.

However, Kompany insisted his focus remains firmly on the immediate challenge, downplaying pressure ahead of the high-stakes encounter.

“Total calmness, internal calmness,” he said when asked about his mindset.

“Not just before this game but I try not to have this feeling of the game play a role too early.”

“Do the routine calmly, find the right words for tomorrow and just search for the right last phrase for the team to influence that one percent.”

The Belgian manager emphasised that his team’s objective is clear.

“We want to win the match. We have ideas that we believe will help us do that. The most important thing is to win the game and that is the priority,” Kompany added.

With a place in the final at stake, Bayern will rely on home support and momentum as they attempt to overturn the narrow deficit against the French champions.
