Nnadozie Inspires Brighton To Historic Women’s FA Cup Final After Comeback Win Over Liverpool

Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie delivered a crucial performance as Brighton and Hove Albion staged a dramatic comeback from two goals down to defeat Liverpool and qualify for their first-ever Women’s FA Cup final.

Brighton endured a difficult start in the semi-final clash as Liverpool raced into an early 2-0 lead within the opening 22 minutes. Denise O’Sullivan opened the scoring with a header before Beata Olsson doubled the advantage from close range, putting the hosts firmly in control.

However, Brighton responded quickly through left-back Manuela Vanegas, who reduced the deficit to spark hopes of a comeback. The visitors continued to press and eventually found the equaliser in the second half when Madison Haley nodded home her fourth goal of the competition.

Former Chelsea star Fran Kirby had earlier missed a clear opportunity to level the game, but Brighton maintained the pressure as the contest became increasingly tense.

With less than 10 minutes remaining, Liverpool looked set to snatch victory, but Nnadozie came to Brighton’s rescue with a vital save to deny substitute Aurelie Csillag. The Nigerian international’s intervention proved decisive as Brighton stayed alive in the tie.

The dramatic winner eventually arrived late on through Norwegian midfielder Nadine Noordam, who came off the bench before smashing home the winning goal after controlling the ball inside the area.
