“My Mission Was Ronaldo” – Jorge Jesus Reveals Shock Reason Behind Al Nassr Title Push as He Confirms Exit

Jorge Jesus has made a striking revelation that his appointment at Al Nassr was driven by a single objective: to help Cristiano Ronaldo win trophies, following their Saudi Pro League triumph on Thursday.

Al Nassr clinched the league title with a dominant 4-1 win over Damac FC, in a match where Ronaldo scored twice, while Sadio Mané and Kingsley Coman also contributed goals.

The victory secured Al Nassr’s first league crown since Ronaldo joined the club in 2023, bringing an end to a stretch of frustration and close misses in both domestic and continental competitions.

After the match, Jesus admitted his decision to take the job was centred on one clear ambition: to deliver silverware alongside the Portuguese captain.

“When I received the invitation from (Al-Nassr CEO José Semedo) and Cris, I only accepted this challenge to help Cris win titles in Saudi Arabia. That was my purpose,” he said.

The title race went down to the final day, with Al Nassr under pressure to defeat Damac and avoid handing the trophy to rivals Al Hilal.

They responded with a convincing performance, securing what is now the club’s 11th league title in emphatic fashion.

The triumph also marks a significant milestone in Ronaldo’s Saudi Arabia journey, finally delivering a major domestic league title since his move from Manchester United in January 2023.

Prior to this achievement, Ronaldo’s only trophy in Saudi Arabia had been the Arab Club Champions Cup, which is not recognised as an official FIFA competition.

It also ends a long personal wait for the forward, whose last official club title before this came in 2021 with Juventus.

In a further surprise, Jesus confirmed that he will be leaving his role at Al Nassr immediately after securing the championship.

“For me, it’s over. It’s the last game I worked for Al-Nassr. I’m leaving, that’s the point. It’s over,” he said.

The Portuguese tactician added that he plans to take a short break, returning to Portugal for rest before considering his next move, including a possible visit to Brazil strictly for vacation purposes.
