Victor Osimhen has reacted to the controversy surrounding the comment Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle made about the future of the striker.
Eric Chelle told journalists in a post-match comment after the Unity Cup victory that Osimhen won’t be available for the friendly against Portugal and Poland.
His comment suggested that Osimhen will use the period to sort of out issues surrounding his future at Galatasaray.
Chelle’s comment has since generated reactions online as fabs believe that the striker is on the verge of move away from the Turkish champions.
However, in a social media post on Sunday, Osimhen said Eric Chelle’s words have been taken out of context.
He went on to say that the Franco-Malian tactician has respect for Galatasaray and supports the team.
Osimhen went on to tell the public to disregards rumour suggesting he is seeking a transfer away from Galatasaray.
“I just got off the phone with coach Eric Chelle regarding the comments about me in his recent interview,” Osimhen wrote on Instagram.
“Unfortunately, his words have been taken out of context and blown out of proportion. He has great respect for Galatasaray, follows most of our games, and never intended to create any controversy.”
“I appreciate the conversation, the opportunity to represent my country, and I look forward to continuing to work with him.”
“He is a great coach whom I respect a lot, and I kindly ask everyone to disregard the speculations surrounding this matter. Thank you for your consistent support.”
