World football governing body, FIFA has asked Egypt to remove the stars on their jerseys for the World Cup.
The former African champions have seven stars on their jersey which represents the number of times they have won the Africa Cup of Nations.
However, FIFA has instructed the seven-time champions of Africa to remove the stars ahead of their World Cup opener against Belgium.
FIFA also instructed the Pharaohs to change the gold colour used in writing players’ names and numbers.
In FIFA tournaments, stars on jerseys represent how many times a team has won the competition.
Brazil is the most decorated team with five stars on their jersey having won the FIFA World Cup five times.
