Super Eagles first team players Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, Ola Aina and former captain Williams Troost-Ekong and erstwhile midfielder Joe Aribo featured on a new podcast.
The players reflected on their respective paths to becoming professional and what they would have become if they hadn’t played football.
Joe Aribo revealed that he became a professional footballer through the academic route, signing his first contract at the age of 19.
“I signed my first pro contract at 19, I went the college route”
Ola Aina said Alex Iwobi could have been a Mathematician, while Calvin Bassey a Scientist but was jokingly interrupted by Iwobi, “Oga, we went to the same school!”
A short video clip of the podcast is trending on social media.
The podcast title “Collective” is produced by Calvin Bassey and hosted by popular UK-based Nigerian podcast host “Dapo CEO”.
