Real Madrid have officially announced the signing of Ivory Coast international Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig, tying the 19-year-old to the club until June 2033.
The deal is worth around €135 million including variables, with a fixed fee between €115 million and €120 million.
Real Madrid beat off strong competition from PSG and Liverpool to land the winger, with PSG reportedly tabling a final offer worth over €120 million before pulling out of the race.
Diomande enjoyed a breakout season in the Bundesliga, scoring 12 goals and providing eight assists as Leipzig finished third to secure a Champions League spot.
He further boosted his profile with a decent World Cup campaign for Ivory Coast, creating eleven chances in four appearances before his side fell to Norway in the round of 32.
Known for his blistering pace, dribbling and athleticism, the 1.8-metre attacker has risen fast since joining Leipzig from Spanish side Leganes just over a year ago for €20 million.
Reports indicate Diomande’s personal terms with Madrid are modeled on Jude Bellingham’s contract, built around performance-based incentives that increase year on year.
The move adds further firepower to Madrid’s attacking options as the club continues to reshape its squad heading into the new season.
Meanwhile, the arrival of Diomande might signal the imminent departure of Brazilian superstar Vinicius Jr who has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League with Arsenal leading the race to sign the forward.
