AC Milan triumphed over AS Roma with a 3-1 victory on Wednesday night, securing their place in the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia.

Milan asserted control early in the match. In the 16th minute, left-back Theo Hernández delivered a precise cross into the box, where Tammy Abraham, on loan from Roma, executed a powerful header to open the scoring.

Just before halftime, in the 42nd minute, Theo Hernández once again played a pivotal role, threading a pass to Abraham, who calmly finished past goalkeeper Mile Svilar. This goal doubled Milan’s advantage and sent them into the break with a commanding 2-0 lead.

In the 54th minute, substitute Artem Dovbyk, who had recently entered the match, initiated a play that culminated in him receiving a deflected cross from Angeliño. Dovbyk capitalized on the opportunity, reducing the deficit to 2-1 and reigniting Roma’s hopes.

In response, Milan’s head coach, Sérgio Conceição, introduced new signings Santiago Giménez and João Félix in the 59th minute. This tactical decision paid dividends. In the 73rd minute, Giménez delivered a precise pass to Félix, who showcased his skill by lofting the ball over Svilar, restoring Milan’s two-goal cushion with a 3-1 lead.

Shortly after, Roma appeared to have scored again when Tijjani Reijnders inadvertently directed the ball into his own net under pressure from Lorenzo Pellegrini. However, after a VAR review, the goal was disallowed due to Dovbyk being offside in the buildup, nullifying Roma’s comeback attempt.

AC Milan effectively managed the remainder of the match, maintaining their lead and securing a 3-1 victory over AS Roma. This win propels them into the Coppa Italia semi-finals, where they will face the winner of the upcoming quarter-final between Inter Milan and Lazio.
