Achraf Hakimi is the new recipient of the CAF Men’s Player of the Year Award.

The Moroccan captain, despite his injury, attended the ceremony alongside his mother to receive the prestigious award.

Hakimi, twelve months after missing out on the prize, mounted the podium on Wednesday evening as he dethroned Super Eagles Ademola Lookman.

The Moroccan captain won the award after a stellar season with the Atlas Lions, helping the country secure qualification effortlessly for the 2026 FIFA World Cup next summer.

Achraf Hakimi was immense, scoring in the final as Paris Saint-Germain won its first UEFA Champions League title, beating Inter Milan 5-0 in Munich.
