Former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has charged his Benin Republic side to be cautious of Osimhen when they take on Nigeria in a 2025 AFCON qualifier.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are still missing star player Victor Osimhen as they return to action this week.

20 Super Eagles in camp

As 20 players practiced in Uyo on Tuesday night in preparation for Saturday’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying encounter against the Benin Republic’s Cheetahs, only three players are still anticipated at the Super Eagles camp.

Midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, attackers Ademola Lookman and Taiwo Awoniyi, defenders Ola Aina, Semi Ajayi, and Olisa Ndah, and forwards Ademola Lookman led the group when they arrived on Monday.

Raphael Onyedika, the midfielder, and defender Bruno Onyemaechi arrived at camp in the evening, right before the team bus left the hotel for training.

Goalie Maduka Okoye and forward Victor Osimhen are expected on Thursday, while forward Kelechi Iheanacho is scheduled to go to camp on Wednesday.

Following their match against Benin Republic on Saturday, the Super Eagles will take a Sunday flight to Kigali, where they will play the Amavubi of Rwanda on Tuesday in Matchday 2.
