Aguero retires from professional football in tears

Former Manchester City legend Sergio  Kun Aguero announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 33 due to heart problem.

The Argentine international was making his fifth appearance for Barcelona against Alaves when he was seen in some discomfort holding his chest and struggled with his breathing. He managed to work off the pitch after medical attention and was replaced by Coutinho in the first half.

His been unable to play ever since, he has gone through treatments and has had several cardiac exams. Aguero was later advised by the doctors that it would be risky for him to continue professional football so is better he quits the beautiful game.

Aguero made his retirement known at a news conference in Barcelona today alongside Barca’s President Joan Laporta, where he thanked his former team Athletico Madrid for spotting him at an early age while he was still 18. He also thanked his teammates for all the club’s he played and his family members.

Kun will be remember as a prolific striker and Manchester City’s all time top scorer.  He will also be remembered for scoring that famous winning goal against QPR that gave City the league title in 2011/12 season. He scored 260 goals in 390 games for the Citizens. He also scored 102 goals in 234 matches for Athletico Madrid, 41 in 101 games for Argentina, while could only score 1 goal in five games in his brief spell at Barca.
