Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi continues his venture into music with the release of his second single “What’s Luv”
The Fulham midfielder talked about his rise to stardorm in the song.
He also mentioned the wealth he has amassed in his career and he’s unfazed about the criticisms he gets.
Iwobi features his close friend SPKS and up-and-coming artist MBrown on the record which has 14K views already on YouTube.
“What’s Luv” is a blend of Rap and Afro-Swing as the Premier League star celebrates his African roots.
Iwobi believes that music is a way he moves away from the very demanding life of an avearge footballer.
He also adds that music is a way he expresses himself and communicate his feelings off the pitch.
“Music has always been a passion of mine, and a way for me to express myself away from football,” he said.”
“Music is a great tool, and I’ve always used it as a productive way to share how I feel.”
“Historically no Premier League player has brought out music with their name and face attached to it, but I like to be different and make a difference.”
“Growing up in an area of London that is challenging for some people.”
“I know how hard it can be and I’m grateful to have a platform to try and make a difference.”
“Alongside the work we do in the community, I hope that my music is another way of proving that young people do not have to feel they have to fit in just one box.”
“I want them to be encouraged to achieve their dreams, to put their focus into positive things.
“Creating music doesn’t take anything away from my football, it helps me switch off.”
“I will always work hard and try to improve in my sport, but this is a good use of my spare time.”
Iwobi’s latest song is his second after he released “Don’t Shoot” earlier in the year.
He is the first Premier League footballer to have a music single officially released.
