Football is dying – Spurs boss Postecoglou reacts to Chelsea defeat

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has strongly criticized the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) decision to disallow Pape Matar Sarr’s goal in their 1-0 Premier League loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Two goals were cancelled during the game, including Moises Caicedo’s effort, which was chalked off due to Levi Colwill’s offside position.

Sarr’s long-range effort was also disallowed after a lengthy VAR check.

🚨⚠️ Ange Postecoglou on Sarr’s goal disallowed: “It's killing the game, mate. It's not the same game as it used to be”.

Postecoglou expressed his frustration and anger during the post-match press briefing, describing the decision as “crazy” and “madness.” He said,

“It’s killing the game, mate. It’s not the same game as it used to be.”

Postecoglou appeared more unhappy that it took so long to come to a decision, rather than the decision itself.

“If the ref saw that and needed to see that for six minutes, tell me what’s clear and obvious about it,” he said.

This was a 16th loss in 30 Premier League matches this season for Spurs, whose visiting fans hurled abuse at Postecoglou for most of the game, and reports suggest he could be sacked at the end of the season.
