Manchester United’s Ruben Amorim, Arsenal’s gaffer Mikel Arteta are among the four managers shortlisted for October’s Manager of the Month Award.

Ruben Amorim guided Manchester United to three wins, including victories over Sunderland, Liverpool at Anfield, and the 4-2 win over Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Portuguese manager appears to have turned the tide around after a difficult start to his first full season at the club.

Mikel Arteta is on course to deliver Arsenal’s first title since 2004, and the Spanish manager ended October on a brilliant note.

Arteta led the Gunners to three wins and three clean sheets in three consecutive London derbies – Westham, Fulham, and the most recent, Crystal Palace.

Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola is also in contention to bag the prize. Iraola started the month with a comeback win over Fulham at the Vitality Stadium, but narrowly escaped defeat away at Crystal Palace in a pulsating three-all draw.

However, Iraola ended the month with a 2-0 home win over struggling Nottingham Forest.

Unai Emery’s Aston Villa are gradually getting back to form after a poor start to the season. The Spanish manager won three consecutive matches in October with a victory away at Tottenham Hotspur and two home wins against Manchester City.
