Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim says he is pleased with the way his team played in the convincing win over Bournemouth in the Premier League preseason series in Chicago.
The Red Devils came into the tie after a 2-1 win over Westham United in East Rutherford on Sunday and delivered another impressive outing against the Cherries.
Over 50,000 fans watched how Ruben Amorim’s men brushed aside Iraola’s Bournemouth 4-1 at the Soldier Field Stadium in Chicago.
Rasmus Hojlund and Patrick Dorgu’s goals gave Man Utd a two-goal lead at halftime after a dominant display.
Amad Diallo and teenager, Ethan Williams got on the scoresheet in the 4-1 win over the Cherries in the early hours on Thursday morning.
Speaking after the match, Amorim expressed his delight at his performance in both halves of the match.
“Really, pleased. I think the intensity was there. They are so focused in the games. They are really focused in training. They are bonding with each other. So, it was a good test.
“We controlled really well Evanilson and [Antoine] Semenyo and that is really important. We pressed high. I think we improved the way we had our possession.
“It was not so fast, like against West Ham, so the lads are hearing everything, and they are trying.”
Meanwhile, Manchester United are looking to sign a striker after the arrival of Mattheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo this summer.
Reports suggest that the Red Devils are interested in signing Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.
Newcastle United are reportedly leading the race to sign the 22-year-old old but are weary of United’s interest.
