Southampton manager Ivan Juric has commended Joe Aribo for his performance in their win against Ipswich Town.
Southampton secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Ipswich Town at Portman Road, thanks in large part to the versatility and excellence of Joe Aribo.
The Nigerian midfielder opened the scoring for the Saints, putting his team ahead in the first half.
However, injuries to Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Jack Stephens forced manager Ruben Juric to make a tactical change, moving Aribo from midfield to central defence, a move that ultimately paid off.
Juric was full of praise for Aribo’s performance, telling Sky Sports:
“We had problems with Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Jack Stephens.
“Today I have to say Joe Aribo was exceptional, he played at left centre-back and he played an incredible game.”
Aribo’s ability to adapt to his new role helped Southampton hold off Ipswich’s second-half push, securing a vital three points for the Saints.
