Arsenal lose ground in title race as stubborn Everton hold firm

Arsenal failed to capitalize on Liverpool’s slip-up, drawing 0-0 with Everton at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners dominated possession but struggled to break down Everton’s resolute defense. They probed and attacked Everton at will, with Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli testing Jordan Pickford, but the Toffees shot-stopper made several impressive saves to deny them.

Arsenal’s frustration grew as the game remained tied, prompting Mikel Arteta to make multiple substitutions on the hour-mark in search of a goal. In the end, Everton and Pickford refused to be beaten.

The draw leaves Arsenal six points off the title pace, having played a game more.

Everton, meanwhile, are three points clear of the relegation zone, having lost just one of their last five league outings.
