Wrexham goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo is one of the dual-nationality players currently on the Super Eagles watchlist, and the shot-stopper continues to prove why he deserves a place in Eric Chelle’s team.
Arthur Okonkwo kept his fourth consecutive clean sheet as Wrexham secured a 2-0 win over Bristol City at the SToK Cae Ras in the English Championship on Wednesday night.
The former Arsenal Academy graduate stood in between the sticks for the entire duration of the match as Wrexham extended their unbeaten run to seven matches in the league.
Okonkwo has been outstanding in between the sticks, keeping clean sheets against Portsmouth, Charlton Athletic, Ipswich Town, and now Bristol City.
Okonkwo’s sharp reflexes came to bear late in the game as he parried a goal-bound header over the bar to keep his record intact.
Coventry’s Tatsuhiro Sakamoto is the last player to score against Okonkwo in a 3-2 win for Wrexham on October 31.
Ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco next month, Arthur Okonkwo could be among Eric Chelle’s provisional list for the tournament.
