La Liga’s run-in gathered momentum on Thursday as four matches delivered decisive results across Spain.
Atlético Madrid and Real Betis both claimed emphatic home wins, while Osasuna edged Sevilla in a tight contest and Leganés salvaged a late draw against Girona.
With just six rounds remaining, the battle for European places and mid-table stability continues to intensify.
Atlético Madrid dominated Rayo Vallecano with a comfortable 3–0 victory at the Metropolitano. Alexander Sørloth wasted no time, putting the hosts ahead in the 3rd minute.
Conor Gallagher doubled the lead just before halftime, and Julián Álvarez sealed the result in the 77th minute.
The win reinforces Atlético’s grip on third place, taking them to 63 points and maintaining their push for Champions League qualification.
In Seville, Real Betis produced a commanding display against Real Valladolid, thrashing them 5–1.
Guido Rodríguez opened the scoring in the 17th minute, and although Valladolid briefly pulled one back through Cantalejo in the 41st minute, Betis ran riot in the second half.

Juanmi, Isco, Romain Perraud, and Abde Ezzalzouli all found the net to give Betis a resounding victory that boosts their European ambitions.
Osasuna narrowly defeated Sevilla 1–0 at El Sadar Stadium thanks to a 25th-minute strike from Rubén García.
The win brings Osasuna to 44 points, moving them into a more secure mid-table position and dealing a blow to Sevilla’s already turbulent campaign.
The final match of the day saw Leganés and Girona play out a 1–1 draw at Butarque. Cristhian Stuani gave Girona the lead early in the second half, but Munir El Haddadi’s dramatic stoppage-time equalizer ensured the home side earned a share of the points.
Both teams remain in the middle of the table with little room for error in the season’s closing weeks.
With six matches left in the campaign, the battle for European qualification and survival remains intense, promising more drama in the weeks to come.
