Atletico Madrid have qualified for the final of the Copa Del Rey after surviving Barcelona’s attempt at a “remontada” on Tuesday night.
Barcelona, being the defending champions came into the tie on the back of a four-nil loss to the visitors in the first leg two weeks ago.
The Catalan Giants started the tie as the better side as they pinned the Rojiblancos into their own half for most of the first half.
Juan Musso was busy in the early proceedings as he made a couple of saves to deny the host from a dream start.
Marc Bernal eventually put the Barcelona ahead in the 29th minute to start the comeback as he tapped Lamine Yamal’s pass into an empty net.
Brazilian winger Raphinha doubled the lead from the spot just before the break after Pedro was brought down in the box.
Marc Bernal bagged his brace on the night in the 71st minute to put the Hansi Flick’s men a goal away from erasing the deficit.
However, with the tie slipping off his hands, Diego Simeone reverted to total low-block leaving just substitute, Alexander Sorloth in front.
Atletico Madrid survived Barcelona’s relentless wave of attacks for the reminder of the match to seal a 4-3 aggregate win to progress to their first final since 2013.
