Barcelona increased the gap between them and their eternal rival, Real Madrid to four points on the log after an entertaining eight-goal spectacle away at Real Betis.
Manchester United loanee Antony put Real Betis in the lead six minutes into the tie as he narrowly beat the offside trap planting the ball into the roof of the net.
Barcelona’s response to Betis’ lead was quick as the equalizer came in five minutes later. Spanish forward Ferran Torres showed great awareness in the box and placed the ball into the bottom-right corner.
The defending champions went on a rampage afterwards as they blew the home side apart racing to a 4-1 lead into the first half break with Torres sealing a hat-trick.
Lamine Yamal converted a 59th goal to put Barcelona 5-1 up as the match seemingly became a training session for the visitors.
Real Betis attempted a comeback as Diego Llorente scored in the 85th minute while Cucho Hernadez converted a penalty in the 5th minute of added time.
