Although reports say negotiations between Bayer Leverkusen and Liverpool are still ongoing, the transfer of Florian Wirtz is yet to be sealed.
The latest is that Bayer Leverkusen have rejected Liverpool’s latest offer for the 21-year-old German forward.
Liverpool, according to reports submitted an improved bid of about €125m-€130m for Florian Wirtz.
However, the the former Bundesliga champions rejected the bidding holding out for €150m.
German football transfers expert Florian Plettenberg says both teams want the deal sorted quickly.
However, he added that Bayer Leverkusen have a different overall package for Wirtz which is different from what Liverpool is offering.
Wirtz remains a key target for Liverpool this summer as the Premier League champions look to strengthen their squad.
The 21-year-old helped Leverkusen finish second behind Bayern Munich with 10 goals and 14 assists in 31 Bundesliga matches.
He also contributed six goals and an assist in nine Champions League matches as Bayer Leverkusen reach the second round.
