It was a goalfest in Germany as Bayern Munich thrashed Shakhtar Donetsk 5-1 on Tuesday night.
Bayern started on the front foot but were setback early in the fifth minute when Shakhtar won the ball in midfield, Oleksandr Zubkov setting up Kevin, who beat Daniel Peretz.
The lead did not last long as the visitors soon levelled the scores, Laimer blasting into the net from a failed clearance in the 11th minute.
Vincent Kompany’s men took the lead shortly before half-time, Sané winning the ball in the opposition half before Musiala’s square invited Müller to tap in.
Sacha Boey was tripped in the box and a penalty awarded to Bayern which Michael Olise dispatched coolly. Bayern added a fourth three minutes from normal time as a loose ball fell to Musiala who calmly placed the ball past Riznyk.
Olise rounded up the win in the closing stages of the match, gliding past several defenders before wrong footing Riznyk and tapping the ball into an empty net.
Bayern remain in top eight on the standings and have their eyes set on automatic qualification.
