Chelsea wonderkid Billy Gilmour is wanted by Wolves and Norwich City, with the Blues happy to send the midfielder on a season-long loan next season.

The Scot joined Chelsea from Rangers at the age of just 15 for a lofty £500,000.

However, Gilmour is now widely recognised as one of the most promising youngsters in Britain and he’s impressed when given the rare opportunity to play in Chelsea’s first team.

But, despite earning rave reviews from those within the club, Gilmour’s been limited to just 11 appearances for Chelsea across the last two seasons.

The 20-year-old is now an established international for Scotland and he was a certainty to start against Croatia last night, before he tested positive for Covid-19.

Thomas Tuchel is an admirer of the youngster but recognises his desire and need for regular football and has therefore agreed to send him out on loan next term.

Norwich City were the early frontrunners for Gilmour’s signature, with the Canaries keen to add to their squad after regaining their Premier League status.

But the Sun claim that Wolves have now entered the race for Gilmour’s signature.

The club have rejected one bid from Arsenal for Ruben Neves but they’re realistic about their chances of keeping the Portuguese midfielder and are already on the lookout for a replacement.
