Nottingham Forest defender and Nigeria international Ola Aina is nearing a return to first-team action, providing a timely boost for the struggling Tricky Trees.
The 29-year-old was pictured training at the club’s facilities on Thursday, the first time since undergoing surgery for a hamstring injury sustained in September.
Aina suffered the injury during Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matchday eight clash against South Africa, hobbling off the pitch in the 10th minute.

His three-month layoff has been a key factor in Forest’s poor start to the season, as they currently sit 19th in the Premier League table.
The 28-year-old is expected to rejoin full team training in the coming days, with his return offering much-needed defensive solidity and depth.
Aina is also expected to be part of Nigeria’s squad for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco, beginning December 21.
