Kelechi Iheanacho has passed his medical at Middlesbrough and will join the English Championship side on loan from Sevilla for the rest of the season.
The Super Eagles forward returns to England six months after he joined Sevila on a free transfer from Leicester City.
Unfortunately, Iheanacho struggled to impress at the club as he registered just three goals in 11 matches for the Rojiblancos.
The forward struggled with injuries and game time in his sixth months stint in Seville. Iheanacho also didn’t score a league goal in nine appearances.
However, he bagged three goals in two Copa Del Rey appearances.
The arrival of Nigerian striker Akoh Adams at club signaled the imminent departure of the former Manchester City academy graduate.
Kelechi Iheanacho’s loan move to Middlesbrough includes an option to buy at the end of the spell in June.
The forward will look to stay fit and get back to form in a bid to find a permanent solution to his future and also increase his chances of playing under new Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle.
