Liverpool Football Club have reached a British-record transfer fee with Newcastle United for Alexander Isak.
Alexander Isak will become a Liverpool player in a record-breaking British transfer record eclipsing the £102 million Chelsea paid for Enzo Fernandes in 2023.
Negotiations between Liverpool and Alexander Isak dominated the summer transfer after Newcastle rejected a £110 million in August and the player’s refusal to play for the club in bid to force a move.
Alexander Isak scored 25 goals last season to help Newcastle secure a Champions League spot and also scored in the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool to secure the club first domestic title in 70 years.
The record-breaking deal comes hours after the reigning Premier League champions secured a 1-0 victory over Arsenal to maintain a 100 percent start to the season.
Dominik Szoboszlai’s stunning second half free kick secured maximum points for Arne Slot’s men as they head into the international break with nine points after three matches and a new striker.
Liverpool will pay Newcastle United £130 million for Isak ahead of his scheduled medical today.
Alexander Isak will sign a six-year deal until 2031.
