The race for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) quarter-finals heated up in Group A as Morocco and DR Congo recorded vital victories to stay in contention.
At Nyayo National Stadium, Morocco bounced back from earlier setbacks with a commanding 3–1 win over Zambia.

Mohamed Hrimat’s stoppage-time strike at the end of the first half set the tone, Oussama Lamlaoui doubled the lead shortly after the restart, and substitute Sabir Bougrine sealed the result late on.
Zambia’s lone response could not prevent their elimination after a third straight defeat.

Over at Moi International Sports Centre, DR Congo overcame Angola 2–0 in a disciplined performance. Both goals arrived in the second half with Kitambala breaking the deadlock before Katumbwe’s clinical finish secured the win.
The result keeps DR Congo in the hunt for a knockout spot, while Angola’s campaign hangs by a thread.
With hosts Kenya leading the group, Morocco and DR Congo now sit level on points heading into the final round, setting up a tense battle for the remaining quarter-final berths.
