Getafe midfielder Christantus Uche has confirmed that his surgery was successful as he begins a new phase of recovery from his knee injury.
Uche shared the update alongside a photo of himself in hospital.
“Today I have taken a very important step on this path. Surgery went as planned and now begins a new phase of recovery,” Uche said.
The Nigerian midfielder expressed his appreciation to Dr Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet and his medical team for taking care of him throughout the process, while also thanking Dr Christopher and Alvaro for their support.
Uche also acknowledged his agent, PINTEX Sports, as well as Getafe’s technical staff, his teammates and the entire club for standing by him.
The 22-year-old further thanked supporters who have sent messages, prayed for him and offered encouragement during his difficult period.
“Now it is time to have patience, work hard and trust the process,” he added.
Uche ended his message on an optimistic note, saying he is “one day closer to returning” as he looks ahead to his rehabilitation.
