AC Milan secured a 2-1 comeback victory against Como on Tuesday evening, at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, marking their first Serie A win under new head coach Sergio Conceição.
The first half concluded goalless, with Milan dominating possession but unable to penetrate Como’s resolute defense.
The breakthrough came in the 60th minute when Como’s Assane Diao scored on his full debut, capitalizing on a swift counter-attack.
Milan responded promptly, equalizing in the 71st minute through Theo Hernández following a defensive scramble with a left volley after Como failed to clear a Milan corner. His goal was historic, making him the first defender in AC Milan’s history to reach 30 Serie A goals, surpassing Paolo Maldini’s record of 29.
Just five minutes later, Rafael Leão secured the victory with a delicate dink over Como keeper after latching onto Tammy Abraham’s perfectly weighted through pass.
Milan now sit seventh on the table with 31 points in 19 games, just five points behind Lazio who are in fourth. Como, on the other hand drop to 16th. Milan will face Juventus in their next match on January 18.
