AC Milan and AS Roma played out a 1-1 draw at San Siro on Sunday, in a heated Serie A encounter.
Milan opened the scoring in the 16th minute when Youssouf Fofana advanced into the box and played the ball across to Tijjani Reijnders, who fired it in with a first-time shot.
Roma responded seven minutes later with a moment of brilliance. Artem Dovbyk executed a clever back-heel flick inside the box, setting up Paulo Dybala for a perfect volley that leveled the score.
The match grew contentious just before halftime when Reijnders went down inside the box, but the referee waved play on. Milan coach Paulo Fonseca’s protests led to his dismissal for dissent.
In the second half, both teams had periods of dominance but failed to find a winning goal. The draw leaves Milan in eighth place with 27 points, 14 behind joint leaders Atalanta and Napoli, while Roma sits tenth with 20 points.
