Super Falcons goalkeeper Comfort Chibuzo Erhabor has completed a move to Crystal Palace Women, joining the newly promoted Barclays Women’s Super League side from Portsmouth on a two-year contract.
The 21-year-old Nigeria international was confirmed as a Palace player on Thursday night, with the club’s official women’s account welcoming the goalkeeper to south London.
Erhabor joins Palace as a free agent following the expiration of her contract with Portsmouth, with her new deal reportedly running until June 2028.
The move represents her first opportunity to play in England’s top flight as a first-team signing. Crystal Palace secured promotion to the WSL last season after finishing runners-up in the second tier, while Portsmouth remain in WSL 2.
Born in the Netherlands to Nigerian parents from Edo State and raised in England, Erhabor began her development at the West Ham United academy before signing her first professional contract with Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2024.
She subsequently spent time on loan at Scottish side Hibernian and Plymouth Argyle before joining Portsmouth in January 2025. The move was initially a loan before she made the switch permanent in July 2025.
Although her opportunities for regular league starts at Portsmouth were limited, Erhabor featured more frequently in cup competitions and now has the chance to compete for a place in a WSL squad.
Nigeria career
Erhabor has represented Nigeria at youth level with the Flamingos and opted to represent the Super Falcons at senior level ahead of the Netherlands and England.
She received her first senior call-up in February 2026 for friendly matches against Cameroon and made her Super Falcons debut on February 28 in Yaoundé, featuring in Nigeria’s 1-0 defeat.
She currently has two senior international caps.
During the build-up to the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, Erhabor also spoke highly of training alongside Super Falcons first-choice goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, describing the experience as “something really special.”
With her move to Crystal Palace, Erhabor becomes another young Nigerian goalkeeper developing within the English football system.
For Palace, the signing provides additional goalkeeping depth as they prepare for life back in the WSL. For the Super Falcons, it offers another potential option developing at the highest level of women’s football in England.
The challenge for Erhabor now will be turning the opportunity into regular first-team football and establishing herself in the WSL.
